Abstract

This paper examines community relations practices employed by Dangote Cement Company Gboko, with a focus on the impact (negative or positive) of this practice on the host communities of Mbayion, Yandev and Ipav. The study also seeks to explore global best techniques of evaluating the impact such community relations programmes have on the aforestated communities. In order- to prosecute this assignment therefore, a critical analysis of the above problem is done through opinion andfactual survey of residents of the host communities as well as management and staff of the company. Findings revealed that Dangote Cement programmes minimal impact as the host communities as they are most concerned with educational based programmes sponsorship and that the relationship between the company and host community is not cordial.
