Item Open Access ACCESS TO INFORMATION BY RURAL DWELLER AS A REMEDY FOR TACKLING COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN NIGERIA(Department of Library and Information Science, Nasarawa State University Keffi., 2021-01-01) Elijah, Ode O.; Ibrahim, Hassan MallamThe origin of the COVID-19 pandemic, otherwise known as Corona-virus at the moment, is shrouded in mystery. Its cause and mode of spread of infection have also not been fully branded as the scientists are yet to reach an agreement on whether CO VID-19 is solely a respiratory or/and airborne disease. As a result, the pandemic is even becoming more unpredictable and intractable to manage. Over 200 countries worldwide are at crossroads in search of its cure, and none has been found yet. Consequently, its devastating effects continue to ravage the entire globe. Thus, the pervasiveness of the pandemic has become a very major emergency across Nigeria. The budding numbers of people who are likely to be victims of this ugly development are often the rural communities with no common access to information due to their economic and information deficiencies. The thrust of this paper is that providing rural dwellers with adequate and timely access to information will serve as a panacea for the COVID-19 pandemic
