E-con fere nee system service is one of the latest additions that has really helped the e-teachers. e-educators, e-researchers, e-schools ore-educational systems, e-security experts, emedicalpractitioners, e-business owners in this Corona Vines Disease (COldD-l9) pandemic. E-conferencing systems service are designed especially for online presentations of conference papers, seminars, workshops with audio or even video, and other tools such as: Synchronised Web browsing spom over the internet not like a traditional conference, workshops and seminars that is held in a hall or classroom. This method of e-conferencing systems sendee has become extremely important in the business and educational environment globally because of its endless benefits. E-assessment for e-learning is described as a process by which e-assessment information is used by e-teachers to adjust their e-teaching methods, and by e-students to adjust their e-learning methods for e-quality assessment and e-education generally. Therefore, this piper is qualitative in nature where it investigated the applications of technology of e-conferencing systems service with the implications fore-quality assessment for e-learning. The paper further highlighted the applications of technology of e-conference, principles, and challenges of e-conferencing systems service, determinants and principles of e-quality assessment for e-leanjing. A nation that is endowed with rich human and natural resources still lives in poverty. Annually, Nigeria's technical and vocational colleges and higher institutions turned-out in thousands young school leavers and graduates out of which majority still roam about the streets looking for white collar jobs which are often very difficult to come-by today. Nowadays, most employers advocate for school leavers and youths who are skillfully equipped and are capable of discharging their duties successfully without any barriers. Entrepreneurship and Economic development are inseparable for any nation's improvement in quality life. The objective of this paper is specifically to assess the quality of entrepreneurship education as a panacea for economic development and job creation in Nigeria. Also, objectives, challenges, prospects, conclusion and recommendations were discussed. It was recommended that provision of certain equipments and adequate qualified man-power in our various institutions that can help to enhance skills acquisition in our youth to be self-reliant, independent and job creators.Item Open Access Assessment of Entrepreneurship Training and Education as Strategic Tools for Poverty Alleviation in Nigeria(Department of Educational Foundations, Nasarawa State University, 2018-04-04) Allahnana, Kwanza Maikudi; Akande, Martina Taiwo; Vintsch, Iliya Monday UsmanEntrepreneurship is one of the measures embraced by the government to reduce mass poverty and unemployment in the country. This study is not established to evaluate past measures of poverty reduction in Nigeria, but aim at investigating the entrepreneurship training on poverty alleviation. Entrepreneurship education and training entails philosophy of self-reliance such as creating a new cultural and productive environment, promoting new sets of attitudes and culture for the attainment of future challenges. The main objective of the study is to investigate the intensity of entrepreneurship training and education as strategic tools for poverty alleviation in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State-Nigeria. Using a stratified random sampling technique, 160 entrepreneurs and apprenticeships were selected as respondents. Data were gathered through a self-monitored questionnaire survey. Biseral correlation was used to test the relationship between the entrepreneurship training and education and poverty alleviation. Two hypotheses were postulated to determine the relationship between technical skill and youth empowerment and between personal entrepreneurial skill and social welfare services. This study confirmed that entrepreneurship training and education are significantly related to the youth empowerment and social welfare services. Findings revealed that youth empowerment are influenced by their acquired technical skill. Ex-post facto survey research design was used. The study highlights the causes and rates of examination malpractices among secondary school students, the effect of examination malpractice and solutions to examination malpractices in schools. A population of200,530 students with 1,833 senior secondary schools were used. A sample o f 302 students using multistage random sampling techniques were used. The research instrument used for the study was a Proforma which was validated and used for the collection of data from the sampled schools. The instrument was validated by experts in Mathematics, Economics and English Language for assessment. Internal consistency was established with the use of Cronbach's alpha reliability method and the index was 0.94 respectively. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for the analysis. Findings from the study showed that WAEC recorded high rate cases of examination malpractices followedby NECO, NABTEB and JAMB. Quasi-experimenta! study of pretest-posttest design was adopted. Two research questions were raised and two corresponding hypotheses were formulated. Two intact SS 1 classes randomly picked from two randomly selected public secondary schools in Abuja municipality were usedfor the study. The selected classes were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. A total op5 students were used as participants for the study. A 20-item Mathematics Achievement Test (MAT) was designed and used for data collection. The instrument was face-validated besides content validity through test blue-print. It was also pilottested using split-half method to determine its reliability co-efficient which was 0.86. The experimental group was exposed to assessment with immediate feedback while the control grorp was denied feedback. The data were collected and analysed using descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions while t-test inferential statistics was applied to test the null hypotheses at the 0.05 level of significance. The results showed that students exposed to assessment with immediate feedback had a higher achievement gain than their counterparts who were denied feedback.
