Item Open Access Public procurement Act 2007 and infrastructure development in selected local government of Borno State under Presidential Committee on northeast initiative, Nigeria(Department of Public Administration, Nasarawa State University, 2019-12-09) Abdullahi, Mohammed; Ibrahim, Isah Salisu; Kumo, Usman A.The study examined public procurement act 2007 and infrastructural development in selected local governmentof BornoStateunderpresidentialcommittee on northeast initiative - Nigeria. Descriptive survey and documentary research design was employed for the study; the populations consist of the Staff of Presidential Committee on Northeast Initiative and Bureau of Public Procurement. The study population covered Five (5) Local Government Area of Borno State that are most affected by Boko Haram crisis. Total number of people in the selected Local Government Area stood at 1401400. A sample of 400 populations was taken from the total number 1401400 population which represent 62% of the total population using Smith statistical technique for determine sample size. Primary and secondary methods of data collection were used to collect the data for the Study. Max Webber Bureaucratic theory was adopted as theoretical Framework. Finding from the study revealed that, Presidential Committee on Northeast Initiative have executed few infrastructure development in area of Mass renovation of homes, repair, reconstruction and completion of critical Roads in Borno State -Nigeria which was destroyed by Boko Haram but serious efforts were made in the provision of solar powered street lamps, paved village roads, drainage, public squares/community centre, market stalls, processing zone, police station, school, primary health care unit, religious center and recreational parks were all executed in most communities from selected local government area of Borno State. The study recommends that, the federal government and the management of Presidential Committee on Northeast Initiative should ensure that all the funds released forthe Mass renovation of homes in affected communities are executed in line with public procurement procedure and timely delivery of such projects
