dc.description.abstract | In this 21st century, Coronavirus (COVID-I9) pandemic has impacted and changed lives on a global scale since its emergence and spread from China in late 2019. It has caused millions of infections, and thousands of deaths worldwide. However, the control of this pandemic still remains unachievable in many African countries including Nigeria, despite the application of some strict preventive and control measures. Therefore, this study assessed the perception of counsellors on the management of secondary school students’ attitude on Computer Based-test towards COVID-19 pandemic in Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone of Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design adopted in this stud)>. The target population of this study comprises 24,403 senior secondary school students from 86 senior secondary schools in Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone. The population constitutes 15,953 male and 8,450 female students. The sample of the study comprised 1315 senior secondary school students from 20 senior secondary schools. The sample was made up of 748 male and 528female students using stratified random sampling techniques was employed. The instrument for the data collection consists of 5-Point Likert scale type of Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Disagree, Strongly Disagree. The questionnaire developed by the researchers to elicit information on how councilors feel and perceived about students ’ attitude on Computer based test towards COVID-19 pandemic. The instrument is called Computer Based-Test and Students Attitude on COVID-19 Questionnaire (CBTSACO) which have 40 items. Construct validity was used to established validity index of 0.86 while Cronbach 's alpha was used to established reliability index of 0.89. Data generated from this study converted into numerical data and descriptive statistics of means and standard deviations were used to answer research questions while inferential statistics of Chi-square (x2) was used to test the formulated hypotheses at 0.05 level of significant using SPSS version 23. Findings from the study revealed that some of the students' have negative attitude while some exhibit positive during computer based test toward COVID-19 pandemic. It was recommended that government should improve the level of technological awareness and utilization of computer based test at the secondary schools’ education for both the teachers and the students and more COVID-19 machineries need to be provide and teachers should encourage male and female students 'to exhibit positive attitude towards computer based test and COVID-19 pandemic for safety. | en_US |
