| dc.description.abstract | The study aims at to investigate the endemic phenomenon of corruption and national development which has hinder growth and development in all facet of life. Corruption may be a friend to some people, institution or organisation, which profit from it. But to the societies and economics, it is a social malaise that is regarded as a public enemy. This is because the net effect of corruption is an abuse of office from private or imofficial end at disastrous for governance and development. Corruption has underlines the rule of law and legitimacy of estate and equally destroys confidence in the integrity of institution and national development. It is a cankerworm that has eaten deep into the fabric of the nation. So far it is to say that corruption has hinder development hence development is all about people, society and standard of living. And corruption implies the abuse of official trust which people bestow on their leaders for the actualization of societal development. Corruption in Nigeria, particularly Nasarawa state has causes hinderance to development. The study find-out that series of patriotic effort toward combating corruption, the hydra-headed monster has remained a high profile issue in Nigeria under development. Therefore the study recommended ethical standard in the need for tat reforms in Nigeria as well as there should be good condition of service for public officers with emphasis on job and post tenure security. | en_US |
