dc.description.abstractThis study investigated the relationship between school conflict and principals ’ productivity on formative assessment of test practicing in Abia State, Nigeria. The study adopted correlational survey research design. The populations for the study consist of all the 206 public secondary schools in study area with 206 principals respectively. Stratified random sampling method was used to sampled 200 principals with 200 schools. Questionnaire titled School Conflict and Principals Productivity on Formative Assessment Practicing (SCPPFAP) was used as an instrument for data collection. It is a Likert scale format and contained two Sections A and B. *’A” was concerned with the collection of information on personal data while section (,B ” was also made up of 20 items. The questionnaire items were constructed based on the research questions and hypotheses. To ensure that the instrument adequately measured the extent of the study, the instrument was subjected to 2 experts in Measurement and Evaluation and Educational Management of the Nasarawa State University Keffi, Nigeria. They were asked to rate each item of the instrument in terms of comprehensiveness and relevance for the stated item purpose and adequacy for target group. This enabled the researchers to obtain a logical validity index of 0.88 respectively. Also, in order to establish the reliability of the instrument, the content of the instrument was well framed and moderated to measure what it intends to measure and the reliability index of 0.98 was obtained using Cron bach’s alpha. The responses generated from the principals were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC). Findings from the study revealed that there is positive relationship between school conflict and principals’ productivity on formative assessment practicing in area of the study. It was recommended among others that stakeholders and school-based management committee should make a united effort to ensure that sufficient andf unctional classroom desks are provided in order to increase the level ofproductivity in Abia state secondaiy schools for excellence formative assessment practicing.en_US
