dc.description.abstractThis work is a review of various methods and systems of communication (1C) for sustainable rural development. The IC is aimed at transforming the rural areas and their dwellers in the developing countries of the world. The IC's systems need to be re-examined for adequate dissemination of information of information to the grassroots rural dwellers. Development can be cultural, educational, physical, socioeconomic, ecological and political. Peculiarity of the rural area demands specific programmes and strategies for their development and poverty alleviation enhancement. The main aim of rural communication and development is to increase the income, nutrition, health, educational and social status of the rural dwellers and poor resource farmers through improved communication system, functional infrastructural facilities and increased food production. The IC methods include town criers, folktales, songs, comic plays, oral poetry and traditional festivals. The IC system includes verbal, non-verbal and signs. There is need for trado-modern communication or synchronization approach of modern and traditional media.en_US
