EFFECTS OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF GLOBAL TELECOMMUNICATION INDUSTRY -GLO NETWORK IN ENUGU STATE NIGERIA

The provision of basic amenities, security and employment is important for legitimacy and effectiveness of an organization. It helps to build the confidence needed to overcome societal mistrust and this shows the real spirit of corporate social responsibility which has to d with an organization going out of his way to initiate actions that will impact positively on its host community, its environment and the people generally. As such, this paper is designed to assess the effect of corporate social responsibility of 9lobal telecommunication industry-glo network in Enugu State-Nigeria. The theoretical framework for this study is stakeholder’s theory and the method adopted is essentially the survey method,The results obtained shows that Glo main activities on cooperate social responsibility are mostly on sport and entertainment. Thus, it is recommends that the company should expand their activities by going into other areas like health, education, charity giving, instead of focusing on only sport an entertainment since it has been involved in corporate social responsibility activities.
