dc.description.abstract | The paper examined the impact of Monetary policy operation on economic growth in Nigeria from 1990-2019.Th e study assesses the performances of monetary operations on the Nigeria economy.Th e study was a time series thereby employing Secondary data sourced from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)S tatistical bulletin 2019.Th e data were subjected to unit root diagnostic test to determine whether they are stationary or otherwise.Th e data were integrated of order 1(0) and 1(1). Therefore the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model was adopted,t he Error Correction Model (ECM) technique was also adopted to check for the co-integration.T he study reported along run relationship between economic growth and monetary policy instruments.T he result shows that Money supply,C ash Reserve Requirements and interest rate affect economic growth in Nigeria. Also, Liquidity Ratio,E xchange Rate Variation and monetary policy rate affects economic growth in Nigeria.T he study concludes that monetary policy tools influence economic growth in Nigeria.T he paper recommended that Federal Government through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)s hould moderate the minimum policy rate and cash reserve ratio as tools for regulating credits;th e money supply and liquidity ratio should be kept at an optimal level considering their correlation impact on economic growth in Nigeria. | en_US |
