Abstract

The study examined staff development programme on performance in Federal Inland Revenue Service in Nigeria. To achieve this purpose, hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Literatures related to the variables under study were reviewed and survey research design was adopted for the study. The questionnaire was the major instrument used for data collection. The data collected were analyzed using regression analysis. The 0.05 level of significance was used for statistical testing of hypotheses. The result of the hypothesis reveals that Technical skills development training programme and team training programme has significant relationship on employee’s performance in FIRS while. On-boarding development programme has no effect on employee’s performance in FIRS. The study concluded that, Staff Development programme has enhances better employee’s performance in Federal Inland Revenue Service. Based on the findings of the study, recommendations were made; the management of FIRS should do more to further improve on the technical skills development programme for all the staff of the agency in order to impact knowledge on the role and responsibilities.
