dc.description.abstractHuman trafficking is largely a form of slavery. The international awareness of the crime has over the years increased. Nigeria is a country of origin, transit and destination for human trafficking. This paper x-rayed the causal factors and socio-economic implications of human trafficking in Nigerian society as one of the most recent and widely spread social menace. The paper used secondary data and factors such as greed, poverty, among others were found to be the major predisposing factors in human trafficking in Nigeria. The phenomenon was discovered to have taken a modernized dimension, thus affecting the full development of human capital in the country. Some useful suggestions were advanced to helping in winning the global war against the trade in human persons.en_US
