dc.description.abstractAbstract This article is aimed at looking at the attitude of the contemporary Muslim woman and her indelible response to polygamous marriage. It begins with an introduction that serves as a background to the understanding of the concept of general polygyny, but not Islamic polygyny, then, to the existence of polygyny prior to Islam. The paper explains the terms and conditions stipulated by the Holy Qur'an for the practice of polygyny. It also discusses the approval of limited not limitless polygyny, the causes of dislike for polygyny and finally makes some recommendationsen_US
