dc.description.abstractThe paper is an examination of the impact of HIV/AIDS pandemic on young people in Nigeria. The aim of this paper is to examine the commonest medium through which the HIV spread .It also looks at the different Socio-cultural factors that encouraged the spread of the virus in Nigeria and other Sub- Saharan African Countries. In addition, the paper discusses the impact that accompanies the HIV infection on young people, such as reduction in life expectancy increase in childheaded household, loss of traditional heritage and skills, depletion of the labour force that have adversely affected productivity in the economy, increase in poverty status of young people in Nigeria and other African Countries among others. The result of this paper reveals that the HIV pandemic is like a holocaust that have ravaged the lives of not just young people, but a large proportion of the population in Nigeria and other African Countriesen_US
