Abstract
Over the years cultural studies have been of much concern to several scholars, especially in the fields of sociology and anthropology. The term culture encompasses a lot of variables. Before delving into the details of what constitutes culture, it is pertinent to state that this paper sets out to critically examine the challenges posed by the phenomenon called globalisation in relation to the Nigerian culture and the desire for national identity
