dc.description.abstractThe decade of the 20s ushered in many changes and challenges in education in many developing countries. This has increased the pressure for an improved management approaches. This paper therefore reviews some relevant literature relating to managing technical education for self-reliance and economic self- reliance in Nigeria. Nigeria's education programmes seem saddled with many constraints. Some of such constraints were identified. Worst still, was the MAMSER, socio-economic issues were just a toothless body which acted as a booster to the geocentricism of its officials through public address system rather than educating the masses for self-reliance. Or issues bothering on socio­ economic bothering on socio-economic and political education for self-reliance have been thought out.
