Abstract

Examination malpractice is as old as examination itself. The rate at which examination malpractice occur in the educational system is highly disturbing. This paper x-rayed law and Examination Malpractice in Nigeria. Data collected for this paper were predominantly through secondary sources such as journals, library materials, internet sources and books. The findings show that Examination Malpractice in Nigeria has become so internalized and legitimized among students and it is regarded as a normal process of passing examinations. The paper concluded that Examination malpractice has become a problem that pervades the entire educational system in Nigeria. It is perpetrated by students and staff alike both within and outside the examination rooms using different techniques that grow by the day. Therefore, the paper recommended that there is an urgent need for total overhaul of the educational system, government at all level should pul I resources together and harness a direction for a proper educational foundation for proper development of human capita/ for national and international task. Also, parents, teachers and relevant stakeholders need to be re-orientated on the need to shun exam malpractice
