Effect of Kohlberg's moral dilemma on secondary school adolescents' reasoning and their ideas on moral issues

Abstract
Adolescents' level of reasoning as it affects their ideas on moral issues was investigated. One hundred and twenty (120) respondents constituted the sample with male respondents comprising 46 and female respondents 74. Moral dilemma as in Kohlberg (1983) was employed. The students expressed their ideas on moral issues due to level of reasoning. It was found that participant's level of reasoning as it affects their ideas on moral issues was high. The result also shows that moral reasoning increases with age, as well as level of schooling. But there was no significant difference between the female and male respondents. The implication of the study was also discussed.
