dc.description.abstractThis paper adoption of Social Media by public relations of Nigeria libraries, examined how public relations practitioners are using social media as plaforms for communication with the public. Available relevant literatures were explored within the field of social media and public relations. At the end of the study, the findings reveal that social media tools such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram and e-library facility were used in the National Library and the National Archive of Nigeria; Social media package such as NFOCOP, Q & A on Facebook and news contents on Twitter are in extensive use to reaching out to both internal and external publics; Public relations unit of Nigeria libraries use other social media facility such as SMS, e-mail, and e-library; social media are highly effective in the public relations practice of the Nigeria libraries; The study recommends that, the fundamental finding of this study was the discovery that the Nigeria libraries adopts social media tools such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and Instagram in their public relations' activities to engage both internal and external audiences and publicise organisations' activities in Nigeria.en_US
