While frantic efforts arc being made by governments of African nations to combat HIV/AIDS die result has been negligible. The factors responsible for this state of affairs vary. However, a number of social problems encourage the spread of the disease on daily basis. These include poverty, prostitution, rape, violent conflicts amongst others. In recent times children, suffered a great deal from these social problems which tend to make them more prone to contacting the disease (HIV/AIDS). This paper therefore examines the dangers faced by under-aged rape victims in Nigeria with respect to HIV infection. It recommends that the government should take the issue of rape seriously while parents should be sensitively watchful over their children.en_US
