| dc.description.abstract | Sometime in 2016, Nigeria's economy was officially declared an economy in recession. Recession is not a new phenomenon rather it has been aroundfor centuries. However, it has variation. It poses challenges on organizational leaders, governments of nations, financial markets, businesses, wellbeing of citizens etc. Barely a year after officially been declared a recessed economy, the Federal government declared that the recession was over, based on the economic indices available. The objective of this study is to examine the challenges to the way to economic recovery and the strategic approaches to be taken by successive governments to sustain economic growth and development. In other to achieve this, the researchers adopted the content analysis as the research methodology for this research work. Some of the findings include: Nigeria's economy is not healthy,There is a possibility of the economy relapsing into recession if urgentfiscal measure are taken and sustained and the nation's economy is in dire need of diversification while some of the recommendations include: the government should enhance access to credit, there should be reduction in the tax rate and there should be effective spending on the part ofthe government. | en_US |
