| dc.description.abstract | This study investigates the impact of malaria on human capital development in Kogi state. The study used time series data on malaria prevalent rate, malaria death cases, public expenditure on theprevention and treatment of malaria, and primary school enrolmentand the method of autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) techniques to carry out the analysis. The estimated model revealed that while both malaria prevalent rate and malaria death cases have negatively and significant impact, public expenditure on prevention and treatment of malaria has positive impact on human capital development.ln the light of this finding, it is suggested that Nigerian government should intensify its efforts in the fight against malaria. To this end, the government should strengthen the roll back malaria programme, promote environmental sanitation and create awareness on the danger of malaria among the people. | en_US |
