Abstract
This paper shows how education is an instrument par excellence for effecting national development. However, the economy of any nation is the live-wire of which a nation operates politically, culturally, technologically, socially and religiously. Therefore, school programs need to be relevant, practical and comprehensive in addressing the needs of the economy, while interest and ability of an individual in any economic benefits should determine the individual's direction in achieving education. Education can have a positive or negative effect of the economy depending on the management of education by educational managers in all three (3) levels of education. This paper therefore recommends that educational managers recognize the effects of education on the economy and ensure that the school curriculum is directed towards building a strong economic vibrant society.
