However, inadequate and unjust distribution of Zakah by the wealthy people has weaken the institution and narrow its prosperity, its essence is to boost economic growth if properly implemented and to cater for the welfare of common citizens. The researcher adopted the use of library materials; with the Qur’an and Hadith serving as the primary sources, interview was also conducted. The findings of this research show that eligible persons whose money reaches nisab (the prescribed amount) when they have set aside the percentage for Zakah, instead of giving the reasonable amount to the people so as to benefit but they rather split and splash the money and distribute one thousand naira only (W1,000) or two thousand naira only ($42, 000) to a large number of the beneficiaries, which has defeated the aim, the meagre amount given may not enable the recipients to establish the business. It is recommended that a reasonable amount should be shared to the people annually, perhaps the beneficiaries can use the money to start a business that can contribute to economic growth, finally, there should be a strong and functioning committee under Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Jama'atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis- Sunnah (JIBWIS), Fityanul-Islam, Voice of Islam (VOI) etc. who can persuade the wealthy Muslims towards giving the Zakah.Item Open Access Application of Islamic Bioethics to Biotechnology(Department of Islamic Studies, Nasarawa State University Keffi, 2021-01-11) Abdullahi, Adamu Sulaiman; Qasimimam, Mardiyyah Muhammad; Abubakar, Isa D/AmareEthic is known as Akhlaq based on Al-Qur'an and Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW) Allah (SWT), Ethic of modern biotechnology is classified according to three part of akhlaq: ethical issues related to Allah (SWT), ethic among human beings and ethic related to living things. In other words, Muslims are violent because their Prophet was. However, learning about the Prophet Muhammad’s life and the early Muslim community in Medina will show that violence is not central to the faith, but that warfare within clear guidelines might be needed when diplomatic efforts fail. This is important to highlight, also, for some Muslims who use violence as a means to achieve certain ends and have contributed to the negative image of the faith. The Prophet used it as a last resort and never used it to instill fear into a people nor did he use it against his own. Terrorism and the violence we have seen by leaders in the Middle East against protesters, for example, deviate from the example set by the Prophet Muhammad over 1400 years agoItem Open Access MUSLIM WOMEN AND CHALLENGES OF WESTERN EDUCATION(Department of Islamic Studies, Nasarawa State University Keffi, 2016-03-03) Liman, Sa'adatu Hassan; Abdullahi, Adamu Sulaiman; Muhammad, Muhammad Tanko AliyuEducation, any education, is beneficial to humanity and enjoined upon Muslims to seek for it and use it within the confines of Islamic framework.
