    CHALLENGES OF GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISES ON THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY

    The paper titled the Challenges of Global Financial Crises on Nigerian Economy is a study that addresses the current issue at global level It brings to light of the reality of the global financial crises in order to discourage its mirage. The paper traced the main cause of the global financial crises to the Wall Street in the area of over valuation offinancial assets. Some activities in Nigeria has not helped its economic functions. Activities like over dependency on petroleum, mismanagement of resources, Niger Delta odd activities, Nigeria Debt rate. The study found out and discussed some challenges brought about by the global financial crises on Nigerian economy. Such challenges are in the areas of International Trade, Foreign Aid, Banking sub-sector, Stock prices, External Debt, Inflation, GDP Real Growth Rate and unemployment. The paper suggested some remedy such as Agriculture as the ultimate means of survival of the Economy, change of attitude and behaviour, and to prevent social vices.
