Item Open Access HEALTH SERVICE AND INTERN AI^DISPLACED PERSONS CAMP IN ABUJA NIGERIA(Department of Sociology, Nasarawa State University Keffi., 2019-09-15) Bilyaminu, Suleiman Muhammed; Adegbe, Ojonoka V.Conflicts and disasters often cause largescale displacement of people due to destruction of homes and environment, religious or political persecution or economic necessity, access to healthcare and organizing health services to the internally displace persons (IDPs) are challenging, though everyone has the right to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health. Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are often more disadvantaged than refugees because they do not benefit from health care service assistance provided by international agencies unless the National Government requests such assistance. Hence, the study examines the effect of Health Services on Internally Displaced Persons in Abuja Camp in Nigeria. The study review related literatures from secondary sources and was anchored on Maslow Hierarch of Needs Theory and conceptualized Health, Health care services, Internally Displaced Persons and the effect of health care service on the health on Internally Displaces person in Camps. The Paper concluded that there is therefore an urgent need for a concerted effort on the part of individuals, communities, governments and partners interested in the provision of qualitative healthcare to IDPS in Abuja Nigeria, towards putting in place workable structures at the healthcare facilities to alleviate these health challenges. In the short term, provision of health services that are adequate, accessible, available, and affordable and user friendly.
