The teacher is tints, the builder whose achievement depends on adequate qualification, experience and teaching method. This adequate knowledge, experience, qualification and teaching method could be attained or achieved by acquiring additional knowledge that will stimulate his/her communication in teaching for efficiency. This study assessed the Economics teachers' characteristics as correlate of senior secondary school students' academic achievement in Economics in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Expo facto survey research design was used. The Economics teachers' characteristics in this study were limited to 7 senior secondary schools with 2,245 respondents as population with a sample of 3 schools and 120 respondents in study area. The stratified random sampling technique was used. The questionnaire on Teachers' characteristics and students' academic achievement (QTCSA) with the Students' Proforma for Economics Results (SPER) were used as instilments for data collection. Content validity of the questionnaire was 0.79 index and the reliability coefficient was 0.86 obtained through the use of Cron bach's Alpha. Data generated from this study were collated and analyzed using descriptive statistics to answer research questions and inferential statistics of Pearson Product Moment Correlation analysis was used to test formulated hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The study found out that there was statistical significant relationship between Economics teachers' characteristics and students' academic achievement.
