This is borne out of the changes that have occurred within the larger family network and the weakening kinship ties among members. The paper examines the expectations of the aced in their relation to other family members, with particular reference to their chil en contemporary Nigeria society. In Nigeria traditionally, children are expected to provide moral and financial support to aged parents; these are in the areas of regular financial assistance to aged parents, provision of medical and emotional support times of ill-health, and regular visit of children to parents among others. The paper however identifies , children are expected to give their aged parents in Nigeria society.
