This study seeks to find out the implication of this insurgence to the socio-economic advancement of the region and by extension - Nigerian state since 2009 to date. The work will also try to find out whether there is a nexus between bad governance, poverty, environmental degradation as a result of climate change; extreme religious indoctrination, etc and the emergence of this terrorist group called Boko- Haram in Nigeria. In an attempt to find answers to the aforementioned, I will use the descriptive and analytical method of data collection, while, content analysis and logical induction will be applied in analyzing data. I intend to use the deprivation theory to properly understand the cause of terrorism in our society.
