The built environment was stratified into industry, highway, commercial area, residential, hospital/clinics, school/offices and others. Fieldwork was conducted from August to November 2017 both primary and Secondary data were used which is include administering of Questionnaires, mobile gas sensor for detecting and measuring of gaseous pollutants journals and internet source. Systematic and stratified sampling was adopted Air quantity sampling for gaseous pollutants were carried out for three days i a week, for one month in each of the three surveyed town. A model for the study was designed to ease the understanding of the research procedure. The result on the questionnaires shows those that uses electricity/generators in the three study areas as source of energy has 73.3%. 8.2% and 81.5% respectively. Those that uses fuel wood as source of cooking/production has 67.75 and 88.15 respectively, while those that maintained vegetation after construction has 23.3%, 12.6% and 12.5% respectively. the construction of the gaseous pollutant were measured bu mobile gas sensor (MGS), Haz dust meter HDIIO and Micro Gas alert Meter. The result shows that carbonhioxied (CO) measured in the three areas were 74.2%. 60.8% and 59.6% respectively., carbon-monoxide (CO) were 14%, 16% and 625 respectively. Particulate matter (PM) were 29.2%. 26% and 22.2% respectively, while Nitrogen dioxide (NO) were 150%, 125% and 125% respectively. Only NO2 is above the maximum permissible limit while CO and CO concentration is very high. There is a significant concentration of the gaseous pollutants in the others built environment apart from highway and industry. It is recommended that green building concept should be adopted, so as to minimized resources, reduce harmful effects on the environment and provide healthier environment, also national energy policy that places emphasis on the exploitation of Nigeria renewable and alternative energy resources (wind, solar and biomass) prepared by government through the Ministry of science and Technology should be actualized.eneffect of green house gas on the built environmental in karu local government area of nasaraw state, nigeriaIThesis
