As such, there is a serious need for both teachers and learners of English to effectively communicate in English using the knowledge of French which today has become "in principle" another language in use in Nigeria. However, it-has been widely observed that Nigerians don’t take French seriously. This chapter tends to show in clear terms different ways in which French has and could still have great impact in the learning and teaching of the English language in Nigeria.
