The purpose of the study was to establish how family relationships predict personality traits of secondary school students. Two specific objectives were raised and translated into research questions and hypotheses. Descriptive survey research design was usedfor this study. The Population for this study was 22,073 SSII students. The sample for the study was 650 students selected using Krejcie and Morgan (1970) sampling table. Two instruments were used for the study namely: Family Relations Scale (FRS) and the “Big Five” personality Inventory (BFI). The instruments yielded validity indices of 0.82 for (FRS), 0.86 for (BFI) respectively while the reliability indices were 0.84 for the BFI, and 0.90 for the family relation rating scale. Mean and standard deviation as well as Pearson product moment correlation was used to answer and analyze research questions on the basis of the values of r (coefficient of correlation) .The results showed that family relationship predicts personality traits of secondary school students.enFAMILY RELATIONSHIP AS PREDICTOR OF PERSONALITY TRAITS AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN NASARAWA STATEArticle
