The origin of the crisis can be link to the acclivities of the colonial explorers who came to exploit the economic product of the area. A very- kind potent cause of ethno-religious crisis in Toto is the problem of poverty and unequal assess to resources, in addition to the breakdown of social control that characterized the African societies such as family, education, law. religion and political system that cared for the well-being of individuals in the area. Indeed the malfunctioning of ail these has actually increase the ethnic crisis. Ethno-religious crisis in Toto create internal displaced persons, many people suddenly become refugee which resulted to dislocation of family and lost of lives. It disrupts trading and other commercial activities thereby retarding economic progress and tempering with the hither to existing social relationship between the warring ethnic groups. The study uses interview and interaction with the warring ethnic group to ascertain the causes and after math of the crisis in the identified villages. The paper finds out that inability of the warring factors to adhered to the teachings of Islam on morality, peaceful co-existence and tolerance was the fundamental cause of the crisis.
