The purpose of study was to investigate the gender base violence prevention strategies among the people. Two research questions and null hypotheses guided the' study. A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population of study comprises ION 7 5 men and \ women. The sample size was 3 70 respondents. J 0 items self developed instrument titled: Gender based violence prevention in North central zone of Nigeria. Questionnaire (GBVPO), was administered to respondents. Data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation to answered research questions and one sample test statistics was used to test null research hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that creating awareness of the scope of the problems and its impact, improve services for survivors of violence and enabling laws has significant influence on prevention of gender based violence in Nigeria.
