This has increased the pressure for an improved management approaches. This paper therefore reviews some relevant literature relating to managing technical education for self-reliance and economic self- reliance in Nigeria. Nigeria's education programmes seem saddled with many constraints. Some of such constraints were identified. Worst still, was the MAMSER, socio-economic issues were just a toothless body which acted as a booster to the geocentricism of its officials through public address system rather than educating the masses for self-reliance.
