Purposeful and stratified random sampling techniques were used in selecting a sample of 300 volunteered female respondents from 5 correctional centers in Borno Mate, Nigeria. Researchers’ designed 24 items Structured Interview Schedule (S.I.S) tagged "Female Inmates Interview Schedule (FIIS)” was the instrument used in collecting data for the study. Data collected were analyzed using Mean and Standard Deviation to answer the research questions while t-test was used in testing e nu ypot esis at 0.05 confidence level. Results of the study showed that poor parenta rearing, i iteracy, street begging and hawking were some of the factors promoting aberrant behaviour among females while age and height are not the promoting factors of aberrant behaviour among females and that religion has significant influence on aberrant behaviour among female inmates in the study area.
