Abstract

The spate of conflicts in Nigeria has reached an alarming rate. Cases abound to explain the richness of these conflicts across all the sections of t ie country and its devastating nature particularly from 1999 to date. As a result, the security of i67 million Nigerians is currently at stake to the er/e/7/ that even the security agents are hidden their identities. It is in obedient to this negative development that this study gives a conceptual onaysisof conflict prevention and peace building, and employed the use descriptive and analytical method to synthesize the applicability of community-Based Early Warning in Conflict Management and Peace building in Nigeria The study reveals that despite the community- based early warning, reoccurrence of violent conflicts in Nigeria has come to stay, hence aggravating internal security problem.
