dc.description.abstractThis paper attempt to investigate the relationship between public expenditure and economic growth in Nigeria within the period of 1980 - 2010. The study used secondary data base on time series trend element. An Augmented Dick - fuller {ADF) test was conducted on the data to ascertain the stationary of the variables as to allow a co- integration analysis to be undertaken. The findings revealed that there has been positive relationship between GDP and public expenditure both at aggregated and disaggregated level. Hence government disbursement of financial has impetus to boost economic growth in Nigeria. Therefore it is recommended among others that government should invest more on both human resources and physical capital in order to enhance economic growth in Nigeria.en_US
