dc.description.abstractThis study examined the potency of ground radar technology in security surveillance of farmer-nomadic pastoralists‘ conflict in Nigeria. Six specific research objectives were formulated to guide the study. The research design was exploratory research design. 72 respondents, made up of heads of operation and two assistants and heads of administration and two assistants were selected using experiential sampling technique from six security outfit involved in internal security operation in three states. The instrument known as ―Ground Radar Technology and Security Surveillance of farmer-nomadic pastoralist conflict Questionnaire (GRTSSFNPCQ)‖ was used to collect the data. The instrument (GRTSSFNPCQ) was subjected to reliability test, using test-retest method and it produced high reliability coefficient of 0.78 to justify the use of the instrument. The findings revealed that there is no significant availability of ground radar technology deployed for farmer-nomadic pastoralists conflict in Nigeria. The result also revealed that Ground Radar Technology can significantly facilitate Intelligence Gathering, Real-time Surveillance and Interception, Secure Communication among Law Enforcement Agencies and affects the application of Identity Establishment and Verification of Farmer - Nomadic Pastoralists conflict in Nigeria. Hence, the study recommended among others that the government should endeavor to adopt and install Ground Radar Technology adequately to monitor, minimize or completely stop the issues Farmer-Nomadic- Pastoralists conflict in Nigeria.en_US
