Abstract
The indiscriminate exercise of employer’s right in determining employee’s employment has generated unnecessary crisis within the labour sector, and the crisis is on the increase within the industrial environment. Prominent factor responsible for this ugly development is that, most employers have not come to terms with the scope and limit of their rights when it comes to rightful and or lawful way of determining employee’s employment. This development has in some cases erodes the relative industrial peace being enjoyed by many organisations. Therefore, there is need to keep the employers and other stakeholders abreast with limit/scope of the employer's right in determining employee’s employment, for purpose of curbing this unhealthy development within the labour environment to its barest minimum. This feat can only be achieved if employers could adhere strictly to terms of the contractual agreement and the letters of the statutes regulating the contract of employment between both the employer and the employee in such employment relationship.
