dc.description.abstract | The forces surrounding the emerging economies cf underdeveloped world, especially Africa has practically stifled its economic progress, growth, deidopnent and sustainability This economic condition bring to the fore the massive onslaught cf rural/urban poverty which the African continent grapples with since the post-world war II era to date The economic misfortunes and incidence cf mass poverty in Africa, zis-d-zis Nigeria is used as a point of departure in this study The paper underscores the idedogjcd and philosophical undertone cf corruption by agnts cf state characterized by the pervasive activities cf domestic bourgeoisie doss as well as the international capital manifesting in form cf colonialism and imperialism as a major character in the historical process cf underdevelopment and mass poverty in peripherial states cf A frica, A sia and Latin A merica, respectively Cfparticular interest in this study are the activities cf domestic bourgeoisie elite doss who haze ugprously displayed some degee cf vsiodessness, corrupt tendencies and abject lack cf desires to drawup workable plans to redeem the battered image cf African/ Nigrum economic misfortunes.
