| dc.description.abstract | “Boko-Haram insurgcnce (Jama’at Ahl as-sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-jihad) has been a source of concern to all Nigerians, particularly people of the North Eastern states of Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Adamawa and Bauchi states in Nigeria. This study seeks to find out the implication of this insurgence to the socio-economic advancement of the region and by extension - Nigerian state since 2009 to date. The work will also try to find out whether there is a nexus between bad governance, poverty, environmental degradation as a result of climate change; extreme religious indoctrination, etc and the emergence of this terrorist group called Boko- Haram in Nigeria. In an attempt to find answers to the aforementioned, I will use the descriptive and analytical method of data collection, while, content analysis and logical induction will be applied in analyzing data. I intend to use the deprivation theory to properly understand the cause of terrorism in our society. Lastly, conclusion will be drawn and recommendation will be proffered based on the findings, so as to achieve a stable society. | en_US |
