Leadership is conceptualized here as the ability to influence a group toward the achievement of goals. It is fundamental to business, to government, and to countless groups and organizations that shape the way we live, work and play. Although the leadership literature is voluminous, this work is a modest effort through the "Forest" - beginning from a look at attributes of great leaders; leader behavior in an attempt to determine what successful leaders do; the leader's traits, the leaders' behavior and the situation in which the leader exists; to the "new models of leadership". The paper proposed the new models of leadership- Transformational leadership, super leadership and leadership as a process-for Nigeria, in view of her peculiar circumstances. But it is underscored that the broad and varied body of work on leadership suggests that there are many appropriate ways to lead.en_US
