dc.description.abstractThis study investigated the influence of communication in marital homes on secondary school teachers work performance in Akwa Ibom Slate. One research question and one hypothesis were formulated to guide the study The ex-postfacto research design was used in the study. Using stratified random sampling technique, 1056 respondents were selected from the population of5,277 married teachers from 50 public secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State. The study was carried out using validated questionnaires measured on a four point scale. The questionnaire was titled, Marital Problems and Work Performance Questionnaire (MPWPQ). The data obtained were analysed using mean responses to answer research question and t-tesl was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the investigation showed that lack of communication in marital homes influences secondary school teachers' work performance in Akwa Ibom State. Based on this finding, it is recommended among others, that counsellors should sensitise married teachers, school principals, state education administrators, other employers of labour and married workers through workshops and seminars that factors outside the work itself or work environment can influence work performance. They should therefore seek counselling in marriage relationship and work.en_US
