Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between students of \a.\arawa State University. Keffi. The lest anxiety among the students, its relationship with tlxh difference in the relationship in terms of gender and their level * of study. .-I population of 260 students composed of 100 and 200 level students of guidance and counselling unit, d sample of SO and 100 students were selected from both levels. Two research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. The design off he study was correlation research design. Statistics used included '’frequence counts and percentages. Pearson Product Moment Correlation and independent t-test statistics. Findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between test anxiety and academic achievement of students. While gender was not a significant factor, level of study significant in the relationship between test anxiety and academic achievement. The study therefore recommended amount others that guidance counsellors at the beginning of every anide students on how to he committed to their studies in order to avoid examination Co tcs' and academic achievement of /v.u ai\ tu .
