Convenience and Use of Government Documents by Academic Staff in Library Complex of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria

This study investigated the academic staff convenience and use of government documents in library complex of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Two objectives were formulated as a guide to the study. The population of the study comprised all the academic staff in the twelve faculties of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.Survey research design was employed; purposive sampling was used where 184 academic staff were selected. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze the data collected. The study discoveredamong others that: majority of the academic staff indicated that the library complex of ABU Zaria was not convenient for them to use government documents because the library does not provide them with the government documents online for use; it revealed that majority of the academic staff were not familiar with the arrangement of the documents on the shelves. 'The study, therefore, recommends among others that:the library complex of ABU Zaria should make effort to digitize its government documents, make them available twenty-four hours seven days, 24/7 in the library website for use;the library complex should from time to time give orientation to the academic staff on the organization of the
