Abstract

This study examined preservation and utilisation of digital information resources in selected tertiary institution libraries in Kaduna State Nigeria. To achieve this, two objectives guided the study. Quantitative method and survey design were adopted to elicit data from librarians and para professional staff using close-ended questionnaire. A multi-stage sampling technique was used in selecting respondents from each institution. The data collected were analysed descriptively and the results were presented using frequency counts, mean and aggregate mean scores in tables. The findings revealed that digitisation was considered as the major and popular electronic methods of preserving information resources in the surveyed libraries in Kaduna State. It is recommended that electronic methods of preservation techniques utilized for conservation of digital information resources by librarians and para professional staff should be sustained.
