dc.description.abstractOne of the most current and topical issues within the context of peace and conflict resolution in Nigeria, borders on the lingering militancy and the subsequent President Yar’Adua’s (2008) amnesty programme in Niger Delta. The objective of this study is to assess the implementation of the Federal Government Amnesty programme with a view to resolving the Niger Delta crisis. Primary and Secondary data were used for this study. Primary data were collected through the survey method with the instrumentality of the questionnaire, while the secondary data were generated through the reading of relevant documents. The data were converted into percentage and analyzed. The findings of this study revealed that the implementation of Amnesty Programme is a strong tool in the development of Niger Delta Region. It was also concluded that the implementation of Amnesty programme will engender integrity, fairness objectivity that will culminate in a robust good decision making in order to enhance good objectives on the implementation of Amnesty Programme. Taking into consideration all the challenges the researcher encountered on this study, he however, came up with recommendations that could enable the Federal Government in the implementation of Amnesty Programme.en_US
