This study is focused on Oral Performance aesthetics among the Jakattoe people considering its importance in their cultural and social lives. Today, most of these performances are gradually fading out and giving way to Western practices, thereby the need to carry out this study to preserve and prevent them from going into extinction. This study examined oral performance as a vehicle for education, entertainment and the transmission of Jakattoe culture through its cultural aesthetics. The study was narrowed down to Wass and Veekuu because it was not possible for the study to take all the oral performances in Jakattoe land. The research methodology employed in this study is the qualitative research. Simple random sampling technique was used to gather data from both primary and secondary sources. Richard Schechner’s theory of ‘Restored Behavior’ is the Theoretical Framework upon which the study is based. Findings reveal that Oral Performance can be given more scholarly attention rather than allowing it to just be with the people who see it as their normal way of life. This study also revealed that Wass and Veekuu entertain, bring cohesion, love and unity, educate and enlighten, and correct social ills. As a result, the study serves to reconnect the Jakattoe people and remind them on the need to preserve and prevent oral performance from going into extinction by revisiting their cultural past and accord it the value and appreciation it deserves. This study recommends that individual Foundations, Non-Governmental Organizations and custodians of culture should collaborate and research on oral performances as a way of promoting and sustaining themen_US
