Abstract
77?fe work establishes the relationship between literature and The Holy Bible. The work makes use of the three types of metaphor as discovered by Chandler (2002): structural, orientational and ontological as concepts of semiotics in order to analyse some popular Bible verses. Twelve different verses were picked for textual analyses from The Holy Bible. At the concluding part, it was agreed that the three types of metaphors sometimes co-present in a single metaphorical element. The paper therefore recommends the knowledge of literature and literaiy analyses among others for anyone aspiring to be a priest.
